Ewimed's new headquarters combines coworking, gastronomy, and medical tech

architecture-design · 2026-07-14

Ewimed, a medical technology company specializing in drainage systems for pleural effusions and ascites, has a new headquarters in Medical Valley Hechingen. The building features 140 workstations, with the company initially occupying the second floor (63 stations). The rest functions as a coworking space, allowing expansion without architectural modifications. FUNDERA Business Forum aims to be a hub for entrepreneurs and startups in the region. The project includes private offices, meeting rooms, a 100-person conference hall, and a restaurant open to the public, serving regional cuisine. The interior, centered around a naturally lit atrium with a suspended tubular light sculpture referencing Ewimed's technology, uses warm materials and vegetation. Views include orchards, meadows, and Hohenzollern Castle. The design emphasizes flexibility, community, and innovation.
