Euridice Zaituna Kala's First German Institutional Solo Show Opens at Kunsthalle Münster

exhibition · 2026-10-13

Euridice Zaituna Kala, an artist from Mozambique, unveils her inaugural institutional solo exhibition in Germany, titled 'Daylighting: aber es ist Wasser, das spricht,' at Kunsthalle Münster. Curated by Merle Radtke, this exhibition delves into themes of colonial memory, historical erasure, and the enduring voices that challenge dominant narratives. Kala's work, rooted in personal recollections and archival research, explores the construction of histories, the documentation of experiences, and the silencing of certain voices. By addressing the portrayal of Black bodies in colonial records, she interrogates the power dynamics influencing visibility and memory. Featuring installations, performances, paintings, objects, and books, the exhibition integrates ecological, feminist, and Indigenous viewpoints. 'Daylighting' will be displayed at Kunsthalle Münster until 24 January 2027.
