Estudio Casabona Rehabilitates Casa BC, a 1960s Military Housing Flat in Alcalá de Henares
Estudio Casabona has finalized the renovation of Casa BC, a 93-square-metre space located in Alcalá de Henares within a military housing complex from the 1960s. The project preserves the original gotelé wall texture, checkerboard parquet flooring, and exposed concrete, while introducing a striking dark green terrazzo wall. Initially designed for large families, the building had small rooms and inefficient circulation. During the demolition, a concrete services wall surfaced, finished in dark green terrazzo, which helps to organize the layout. A pine-green dining table links the kitchen, dining area, living room, and terrace. Dark green terrazzo also features in the kitchen splashback, bathroom counter, and a bedroom nook. Nordic-inspired furniture includes a chair and a suspended oak sideboard. Photography by David Zarzoso.
