Esther Ferrer honored as guest artist for ESTAMPA 2026 contemporary art fair
The 34th International Contemporary Art Fair, known as ESTAMPA, is set to take place at IFEMA MADRID from September 24 to 27, 2026. Spanish performance art pioneer Esther Ferrer, born in 1937 in San Sebastián, will showcase her latest project as the guest artist. Renowned for her contributions to performance and conceptual art, Ferrer’s diverse portfolio includes collage, photography, drawing, and sound art. She was a member of the ZAJ group, which was active between 1964 and 1996. Ferrer has displayed her work in prestigious venues such as Madrid's Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. In 1999, she represented Spain at the Venice Biennale and received Spain's National Plastic Arts Prize in 2008.
