Enki Bilal Opens Fonds Enki Bilal in Paris Marais with Inaugural Retrospective

The Fonds Enki Bilal was inaugurated on June 11, 2026, at 22-24 rue Charlot in the Marais district of Paris, within the former Denise René gallery. Designed by Jean-Baptiste Barbier, this 260 m² venue showcases more than 200 pieces, including comic pages, sculptures, paintings, and archives. It features a library, a projection room, and areas for meetings, with the goal of supporting a variety of artists and students. The opening exhibition highlights Bilal's journey, starting from his 1971 debut in Pilote magazine and his collaborations with Pierre Christin on projects such as Le Vaisseau de pierre (1976) and the Nikopol trilogy (1980–1993). This exhibition will be available until November 1, 2026, and Bilal describes the Fonds as an 'act of resistance' against the loss of creative spaces.
