Endrit Marku's Ambiguous Cityscapes Question Urban Authority

Endrit Marku, an architect and visual artist from Tirana, presents a collection of drawings that delve into the factors shaping urban environments. Created mainly using Procreate, his artwork features dreamlike cityscapes, buildings at various stages of development, and nods to essential construction materials, like the 'Monument to the Brick.' His ongoing series, 'Process,' illustrates the changing nature of urban forms, highlighting his scholarly focus on how cities evolve through human activity. Marku completed his PhD on the relationship between space and authority, analyzing Tirana's urban transformation during different political periods. He previously led the Architecture and Engineering Department at POLIS University until 2022 and currently mentors third-year students. His research investigates the semiotics of architectural design, and he shares his explorations on Instagram.
