Émile Gallé Exhibition Opens at Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nancy, October 2026
From 21 October 2026 to 28 February 2027, the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nancy will present an exhibition dedicated to Émile Gallé's workshops, featuring 140 works created between 1880 and the 1920s, which have been deemed of national significance. A prominent figure from Nancy, Gallé quickly rose to prominence, earning the Grand Prix for glassmaking at the 1889 Exposition universelle and showcasing his art internationally. The exhibition emphasizes the unusual aspects of his creations and details his methods, including two patents he registered in 1898. Additionally, Gallé's Ferme table service made a political statement against the victors of the 1870-1871 war. The museum also houses over 900 Daum pieces, with nearly 300 displayed across 600 square meters. It is located at 3 place Stanislas, 54000 Nancy.
