Elliott Erwitt's 'Icons' at JMuseo Jesolo Celebrates the Ordinary
From June 13 to October 18, 2026, the JMuseo in Jesolo (Venice) hosts 'Elliott Erwitt. Icons', a major exhibition of 80 photographs by the late photographer (1928-2023). Curated by Biba Giacchetti, with project management by Gabriele Accornero and Valentina Bruno, the show is produced by the Comune di Jesolo and JMuseo in collaboration with Orion57 and Bridgeconsultingpro. The exhibition spans Erwitt's career, featuring iconic images such as 'California Kiss' and 'Umbrella Jump', alongside portraits of Che Guevara, Fidel Castro, Jack Kerouac, Marlene Dietrich, Sophia Loren, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. It also documents historical moments like JFK's funeral and the Nixon-Khrushchev debate. Erwitt's celebrated dog photographs are included, reflecting his observational humor. The exhibition coincides with the bicentennial of the first photograph by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce.
