Ellie Rines Moves Gallery from Chinatown to Tribeca, Opens with Christopher K. Ho Candelabra Show

exhibition · 2026-09-15

Ellie Rines has shifted her gallery from Chinatown to Tribeca, debuting at 46 Walker Street with an exhibition showcasing 20 candelabra sculptures by Christopher K. Ho. The new venue boasts ceilings reaching 14.5 feet and is situated directly across from the gallery of her former mentor, Stefania Bortolami. The opening took place on a humid Wednesday in September, just two weeks prior to The Armory Show, drawing significant crowds alongside over 50 other gallery openings in Tribeca. After a decade in Chinatown, where she ran 56 Henry since 2015, Rines decided to move due to programming challenges and limited larger spaces. Her gallery now employs a team of six, including new director Isabelle Hogenkamp.
