Ella Beatty, who plays Lizzie Borden in Ryan Murphy's new series 'Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story,' attended the show's New York City premiere in a custom black Harbison gown styled by Erin Walsh. In an interview with Vogue, Beatty said she chose the long gown to reflect the show's dark mood while incorporating playfulness and 'a shade of camp.' She described her favorite on-set memories as 'giggling between takes with the cast and crew,' and praised Murphy and co-creator Ian Brennan for exploring female rage and repression, noting that the writing blended humor with drama in a fresh and satisfying way. Beatty is Murphy's first female 'monster,' following previous seasons about Jeffrey Dahmer, the Menendez brothers, and Ed Gein.
