Eleonore Buschinger's 35-Meter Hand-Painted Table Installation at Soho House Berlin

During Gallery Weekend Berlin, Paris-based artist, chef, and Vitamin Color founder Eleonore Buschinger unveiled 'L’Art de la Table,' a site-specific installation and multi-course dining experience at Soho House Berlin, in collaboration with BlueLobster Art. The project reinterprets the French concept of l’art de la table by turning the dining table itself into a painted artwork. A 35-meter hand-painted composition spans walls, floor, and table, dissolving boundaries between painting, furniture, and interior space. Buschinger developed the menu and painting simultaneously, translating ingredients, colors, and plating into painted forms. The installation follows a meal's sequence, with motifs recurring at different scales. Transparent glass plates kept the painted surface visible during dinner. Guests' movements and the gradual disappearance of food continuously altered the composition. The project is conceived as an ongoing series, with future editions generating new site-specific installations based on seasonal ingredients and local food cultures.
