El Trébol House by Engelman Estudio in Argentine Patagonia

Engelman Estudio, led by Pablo Engelman and Santiago Conte Mac Donell, has completed the El Trébol House in San Carlos de Bariloche, Río Negro, Argentina. The 195 m² residence, finished in 2026, is situated on the highest point of the El Trébol neighborhood, within a dense native forest on a steep slope. The design responds to the site's topography, creating a processional route that ascends through coihues and pines, culminating in a flat area open to the landscape. The house is conceived as a device that guides the gaze toward the best forest views and the open horizon of Laguna El Trébol. The project emphasizes the experience of the journey, translating the unavoidable experience of the site into architecture. Key materials and collaborators include wood construction by Hermanos Delfino, masonry and wet work by Pedro Bagau, carpentry by Condor Andino, and exterior wood cladding by Loro Negro.
