El Departamento designs immersive flagship store for Lady Pipa in Madrid
Architecture and interior design studio El Departamento has completed the new flagship store for fashion brand Lady Pipa in Madrid's Salamanca district. The 106-square-meter space transforms shopping into an immersive experience inspired by the dreamlike, theatrical aesthetics of David Lynch's cinema, under the concept 'Soirée Dreams.' The entrance features a retro-style metal telephone that blurs reality and fiction. Continuous blue-toned flooring extends to lime-washed walls, creating a uniform envelope. The checkout area is reinterpreted as a DJ booth with backlit glass blocks and a custom suspended light fixture. Display areas include mirrored arches, silver faux fur backdrops, and velvet-lined niches for shoes. Fitting rooms are designed as a dance floor with gradient silk curtains, classic dressing-room mirrors, and a handcrafted Murano glass chandelier. The lower level hosts a private event space with lime green carpet and dark sapelli veneer, offering a more intimate atmosphere. Photography by Sergio Pradana.
