El calor de otros soles at Sorondo, Barcelona: Four Latin American Photographers Explore Migration
“El calor de otros soles” is currently on display at Sorondo in Barcelona, showcasing the work of four emerging photographers from Latin America: Fabiola Ferrero, Marisol Mendez, Silvana Trevale, and Daniel Santolo Franco. The exhibition's title is inspired by Isabel Wilkerson's 2010 book "The Warmth of Other Suns," which details the migration of African Americans. Each artist delves into migration through their personal narratives. Ferrero (Caracas, 1991; Paris) focuses on Venezuela's socio-political turmoil, while Mendez (Cochabamba, 1991; Paris) intertwines fact and fiction regarding Bolivian gender issues. Trevale (Caracas, 1993; Barcelona/New York) highlights the resilience of Venezuelan youth, and Santolo (Caracas, 1993; Barcelona) contemplates migrant identity. The exhibition honors the diversity and strength of Latin American heritage.
