EKAR Architects Completes Hotel Sayla in Chiang Mai's Nimmana Haeminda Community
EKAR Architects designed Hotel Sayla, a 455 m² hospitality project completed in 2023 in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The project is located within Nimmana Haeminda, a community that also contains Baan Sayla, a small guesthouse. Ekaphap Duangkaew served as principal architect, with Tirayon Khunpukdee on the design team. Rungkit Chareonwat photographed the project, and Miwa Negoro curated the presentation. The scheme falls under the hotels category. According to the project description, Nimmana Haeminda has historically brought together the distinct identities of its local residents, a group that has included merchants, teachers, and a mix of creatives and artists. The guesthouse Baan Sayla sits within this same community fabric, and the new hotel project engages with that context. The architecture covers 455 m² and was completed in 2023.
