Eetu Sihvonen and Nicklas Johannes Dual Solo Show at MARC BIBILONI

MARC BIBILONI gallery in Madrid presents a double solo show featuring Finnish artist Eetu Sihvonen's 'Lore Lorn Husks' in Room 1 and Danish artist Nicklas Johannes' 'Selskabsdyr' in Room 2, running until July 31, 2026. The exhibition marks the first time these two emerging international artists are shown together in Spain, exploring memory, world-building, and the collective condition of contemporary imagery through distinct practices. Sihvonen's sculptural ecosystem uses wood, 3D printing, resin, and fire to reflect on virtuality and rematerialization, centering on the recurring motif of the egg as a fragile yet capacious form that holds landscapes, memories, and narratives. His works function as fissures into an expanding ecosystem where fiction, simulation, and memory overlap. Johannes' paintings in the second room depict crowds, examining the ambivalence between belonging, social desire, and estrangement. The Danish title 'Selskabsdyr' translates to 'social animal,' highlighting a tension between community and instinct. His compositions feature anonymous figures, erased faces, and serial gazes that suggest both collective energy and anxiety over loss of individuality.
