EESI Poitiers moves to sustainable new campus in Couronneries
The École européenne supérieure de l'image (EESI) in Poitiers will relocate from its outdated facilities to a new, sustainable building in the Couronneries district at the start of the upcoming academic year. The architectural project, designed by the firm Cosa, is situated on the former site of Enedis, the electricity provider. Emphasizing energy efficiency and durable materials, the architects have utilized prefabricated low-carbon concrete. Construction of the 4,500 square meter building began in January 2024, with a total cost of 18 million euros. Funding is provided by the City of Poitiers and the Communauté urbaine du Grand Poitiers, with additional support from the French state and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. The new facility aims to better accommodate the school's activities and reflects a broader trend in French higher education towards sustainable architecture.
