Edy Modica Debuts Comedy Special 'I'm Just Like You (And It Sucks)'
Edy Modica, a comedian, is promoting her first special, I'm Just Like You (And It Sucks), which includes a segment about her visits to "boobs.com" and "sex.com." The taping included her parents, with her mother even playing a role in a punchline. As an only child, Modica shares a close bond with her parents, who often express their worries about her material. Her comedic approach has transformed since her nude performance at Williamsburg's Annoyance Theatre ten years ago. In 2023, she appeared in Jury Duty and is currently working on a half-hour pilot for HBO inspired by her 2021 short film, Nicole. A lifelong resident of New York, she resides in Ridgewood, Queens, and performs at venues in Brooklyn.
