Ecobee3 Lite Thermostat Discounted to $120 in Fall Sale Ending October 21

Ecobee's fall sale offers the refurbished Ecobee3 Lite smart thermostat for $120 with free shipping, down from its current $140 price as the rebranded Essential model. The refurbished unit includes the same three-year warranty as a new device. The sale runs through Wednesday, October 21. The Ecobee3 Lite features a touchscreen, app-based control, and compatibility with Ecobee sensors for managing temperature across multiple floors. It lacks occupancy detection and a built-in speaker found on higher-end models. Refurbished Enhanced and Premium thermostats are also discounted to $170 and $220 respectively, alongside bundles containing Ecobee security accessories. Non-refurbished security sensors are priced at $50, and the Ecobee video doorbell is available for $130, allowing users to see and speak with visitors via phone or thermostat. A smart-home editor who used an Ecobee3 Lite for eight years and now owns the Ecobee Premium ($260) recommends the thermostat line while noting the brand's security and smart-home ecosystem can be buggy. The sale targets shoppers who missed Prime Day and prefer not to wait for Black Friday.
