Dutch GP Enforces Strict Camera Ban at Zandvoort Finale

The Dutch Grand Prix, scheduled for this weekend at the historic Zandvoort circuit, has implemented one of the most restrictive camera policies on the Formula 1 calendar. Motorsport photographer Jamey Price issued a warning via Instagram, advising fans that cameras with detachable lenses will be prohibited unless they hold media credentials. The event's official website further clarifies that selfie sticks, drones, cameras, and recording equipment are all banned under House Rules. Price emphasized the importance of checking event-specific websites, as policies vary by race; some events have no limits, while others like the Netherlands and Las Vegas prohibit detachable-lens cameras entirely. The Miami GP, for instance, allows consumer-grade lenses up to six inches, prompting one photographer to carry a tape measure for verification. Many photographers have expressed frustration, with some calling the rules nonsensical and others noting they restrict hobbyists and harm fan engagement. The race marks the final Dutch GP for the foreseeable future, as Zandvoort returned to the calendar in 2021 after a 35-year absence, largely due to Max Verstappen's popularity. However, with speculation about Verstappen's potential departure from the sport, the circuit has declined a long-term contract with F1.
