Dudamel and Conlon Exit L.A., Gehry's Legacy Endures

Frank Gehry, the architect of Disney Hall, died on December 5, 2025, at age 96. His final project, a music-and-dance complex for the Colburn School, is nearing completion. Gustavo Dudamel concluded his tenure as L.A. Philharmonic music director with a final concert pairing Adams's "Harmonium" and Estévez's "Cantata Criolla." His official farewell is in August at the Hollywood Bowl. Dudamel championed Latino composers, notably Gabriela Ortiz, and oversaw over 60 world premieres.
