DRAW Project's Global Drawing Exhibition Arrives in Brest with Local Artists

The DRAW Project, an international platform for contemporary drawing initiated by artist Tomas Vu in New York in the early 2010s, is now on view at Passerelle Centre d’art contemporain in Brest, France. The exhibition, co-curated by Loïc Le Gall, director of Passerelle, and Rafael Domenech, brings together around one hundred artists from various generations and cultures, with a quarter of them living or working in Brittany. This iteration of DRAW includes a special focus on Tomas Vu, featuring an 'exhibition in the exhibition' dedicated to his work. Additionally, Rafael Domenech has incorporated excerpts from the writings of Anjela Duval (1905–1981), a Breton poet, whose collection was co-published by Passerelle this year. The exhibition is part of DRAW's global journey, which has previously traveled to the United States, Chile, the Philippines, and China, evolving at each location. The project emphasizes drawing as a common language for dialogue and experimentation, fostering a sense of community and resistance against divisive narratives.
