Dr. Calvin Jefferson Expands Chromatic Woman™ Series Toward Major Exhibition and Publication
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock houses a pastel portrait from 1996, named Endangered Species, created by Dr. Calvin Jefferson. This piece reflects his initial investigation into themes for his Chromatic Woman™ series. Additionally, Jefferson's portrait of Bill Clinton can be found at the Clinton Presidential Library. He aims to expand Chromatic Woman™ into a significant exhibition that celebrates women's beauty, strength, and cultural heritage. The series features pieces like Chromatic Woman™: Korean Woman and Indian Woman, showcasing seated figures amidst various elements. Jefferson, a Little Rock native and Navy veteran with several degrees, incorporates realism, vibrant colors, and Cubist influences in his art. His work also includes music, exemplified by The Color of Man as cover art.
