Donum Collection: Sculptures Amidst Sonoma Vineyards

The Donum Collection & Estate in Sonoma, California, presents seventy sculptures across a vineyard landscape, many commissioned for the site. Works include bronze pieces by Yayoi Kusama and Botero, stained glass structures, and immersive mazes. Highlights include Jaume Plensa's skewed head at the entrance, Ai Weiwei's 'Zodiac Heads', Adam Parker's squished classical figures, Lynda Benglis's 'Pink Ladies' flower sculptures, and a Robert Indiana 'Love' sculpture. Yang Bao's 'HYPERSPACE' sculptures feature a futuristic space organ that emits ethereal sounds mirroring the environment, designed to evoke the essence of Donum. Other works include Pascale Marthine Tayou's 'Mikado Tree', Marc Quinn's bronze bonsai, Rebecca Manson's 'Crowded Bed', and Douglas White's 'Black Palm' made from car tires. Louise Bourgeois's 'Crouching Spider', her first mother/spider sculpture, occupies a solitary building. The estate offers wine pairings but prohibits outside food. Visits are reservation-only.
