artist · 2026-09-18

Czech artist Don Mirakl, originally named Ondra Mikl and born in Brno in 1988, perceives painting as a fusion of creation and annihilation. Utilizing acrylics, oil, charcoal, and various other materials on canvas and cardboard, he frequently depicts abstract, androgynous figures devoid of eyes. His prominent series include The Blue Period and Child of Eternity. A self-taught artist, Mirakl studied Information Technology in Economics and earned his degree in General Theory and History of Art from Masaryk University. He has produced approximately 200 graphic pieces, with ten highlighted in 36 Artists To Follow. His artwork is housed in public collections across Denmark, North Macedonia, and the Czech Republic. Mirakl teaches art and IT in Strážnice and resides in Bzenec and Uherské Hradiště.
