Dolly Parton's Hollywood Walk of Fame Star Replaced After Vandalism

The Hollywood Walk of Fame has replaced Dolly Parton's star after it was vandalized following the country legend's death at age 80. The original star, awarded in 1984, was scratched and defaced, prompting repairs on Wednesday. The Hollywood Historic Trust and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced the new star will be unveiled on Friday. Fans had left flowers, candles, and photos at the site, which were cleared before repairs. The Hollywood Walk of Fame, with over 2,800 stars, honors achievements in entertainment. Parton was laid to rest beside her husband Carl Dean at a private funeral in Nashville, and a tribute concert at the Grand Ole Opry House featured her niece Jada Star. Her theme park Dollywood in Tennessee, which she purchased in 1982, will add a waterfall and stained-glass windows to its chapel, and introduce a new character called the Dream Maker to honor her Imagination Library program. Parton, known for hits like '9 to 5' and 'Jolene', died last week, prompting tributes from around the world.
