Digital Trace: Chilean Ceramics Exhibition Opens at Berlin Art Week

Santiago-based Galería Biophilia makes its Berlin debut with 'Digital Trace in Contemporary Ceramics,' a collective exhibition at KSTN – Projektraum Berlin in Kreuzberg during Berlin Art Week. Opening on September 10, the show features 100 ceramic works by Chilean and international artists, exploring the tension between digital immateriality and the physicality of fired earth. The exhibition includes an exclusive curatorial essay by cultural theorist Celeste Olalquiaga, who reflects on how the shift from tactility to digitality has transformed our relationship with touch, and how ceramics offers a return to tactile pleasure. The works range from organic sculptures to technical experiments with regional clays and extreme firing processes, highlighting the evolution of ceramics from craft to a vital sculptural medium. The exhibition runs from September 10 to 13, 2026, with free admission.
