Diego Villalba Transforms Four Seasons Formentor into Living Art Space

Spanish artist Diego Villalba has created a site-specific installation at the Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor, part of the resort's summer 2026 cultural season. The work, inspired by the iconic pine trees on the beach of Formentor and the Mediterranean Sea, is designed to be walked through and inhabited, consisting of four nuclei: HUMANIZACIÓN (a walk along the shore), INTEGRACIÓN (ceramics), RESISTENCIA (murals of flowers and Formentor pines), and PERSISTENCIA (Hombre Árbol, or Tree Man). Villalba, who transitioned from haute couture to contemporary art, had his first solo exhibitions 'Lo siguiente' (2024) and 'Cosidos en papel' (2025), the latter extended due to public success. The installation reflects on human existence, permanence, and resistance, drawing on the poem by Costa i Llobera. The resort aims to position itself as a cultural destination, integrating art into its luxury experience.
