Didier William's First French Solo Show Opens at Galerie Peter Kilchmann
Didier William's inaugural solo exhibition in France, and his second with Galerie Peter Kilchmann, is now on display. Titled "Lot Bò D'lo A," which translates from Haitian Creole to "on the other side of the water," the exhibition showcases thirteen paintings produced this year. Additionally, a version of his notable installation "Gesture to Home" (2024) enhances the exhibit; this work, originally designed for the 2024 Prospect.6 Triennial in New Orleans, merges pictorial and sculptural aspects within an immersive space. William, born in 1983, moved to Miami at six, where his upbringing significantly influenced his artistic journey. He obtained an MFA in painting and printmaking from Yale School of Art in 2009 and currently resides in Philadelphia.
