Design Funzione Arte 2026 bridges Etruscan heritage and contemporary design at MAAM Grosseto

The third edition of Design Funzione Arte, curated by Alessandro Corina, opened at the Museo Archeologico e d'Arte della Maremma (MAAM) in Grosseto, Italy, running until September 30, 2026. The exhibition, themed 'La visione artigianale' (The Artisanal Vision), juxtaposes Etruscan artifacts from the museum's collection with contemporary design objects by Elena Salmistraro, Pepa Reverter, Matteo Cibic, and Jaime Hayon, produced by Bosa Ceramiche. Corina himself designed two cups for Bosa Ceramiche inspired by the Etruscan practice of shared dining between men and women. A second section features a film by Florentine director Virgilio Villoresi, accompanied by original set designs. The inauguration at Teatro degli Industri included speakers Laura Traldi (Interni Magazine), Santa Nastro (Artribune), Villoresi, MAAM scientific director Luca Giannini, and Corina. The project aims to connect Corina's international work with the Maremma region, highlighting Grosseto's cultural investment and its resistance to overtourism.
