Demokratie im Rohbau: Ausstellung in Schloss Herrenchiemsee

In the unfinished spaces of the North Wing of Herrenchiemsee Palace, the exhibition "Könnt ihr noch? – Kunst und Demokratie?" is unveiled by the Pinakothek der Moderne, featuring 50 pieces from the Museum of Modern Art’s collection. Notable artists showcased include Picasso, Bacon, Richter, and Beuys. Inspired by Deichkind's dystopian video, the exhibition explores democracy’s resilience from post-war periods to contemporary times. Key highlights include Willi Geiger's "Ruinengespenst" from 1952 and Picasso’s "Le peintre et son modèle" from 1963. Additionally, the Augustiner-Chorherrenstift hosts a permanent exhibition on the 1948 Herrenchiemsee Constitutional Convention.
