Delano Miami Beach reopens after six-year renovation with art deco revival

The Delano Miami Beach, a renowned art deco hotel located on Collins Avenue, has reopened following a comprehensive renovation that lasted six years and was spearheaded by Elastic Architects. First opened in 1947, the hotel underwent a significant transformation in 1995 by hotelier Ian Schrager and designer Philippe Starck, evolving into a chic South Beach hotspot. The new design respects its historical roots while embracing a contemporary wellness focus. Collaborating with the City of Miami Historic Preservation Division, the team preserved key elements like the terracotta floors adorned with the original emblem and the lobby's impressive columns. The hotel boasts 171 rooms, including a 2,824 sq ft ocean-view penthouse, and features local art, dining options from Paris Society, and a new wellness wing. Rates begin at $650.
