Dawn Cerny and Bristol Hayward-Hughes Debut 'Pond in a Bowl' Sculpture Garden in Seattle
Dawn Cerny and Bristol Hayward-Hughes, artists from Seattle, designed six sculptures for 'Pond in a Bowl,' an exhibition featuring outdoor sculptures and poetry curated by Veronica in Seattle. These sculptures function as bird feeders, resting spots for pollinators, and poetry kiosks, incorporating spaces for water, birdseed, and nesting materials. Ed Steck from Pittsburgh has created poems available on postcards and pamphlets for attendees. The garden will launch on Saturday, June 20, beginning with a potluck and poetry readings at 6 PM, followed by a Midsummer celebration on Sunday, June 21, from 5 PM until sunset. From June 22 until the end of summer, it will be open on Sunday afternoons. Cerny, born in 1979, earned an MFA from Bard College and has received multiple accolades. Hayward-Hughes, born in 1992, holds a BFA from Cornish College.
