Davy Denduyver Rebrands A Human Agency After Instagram Discovery

Davy Denduyver, a Belgian graphic designer, has developed a fresh visual identity for A Human Agency (AHA), an initiative that began when founder Ryan Claydon discovered Denduyver’s work via Creative Boom's Instagram feature, Ten Under 10K. This series showcases ten creatives with fewer than 10,000 followers, and after being highlighted, Denduyver received an email from Claydon months later offering him the project. Claydon was particularly impressed by the tactile quality of Denduyver's work, especially his identity for Barcelona's Mina restaurant, which combines hand-drawn elements with typography. To celebrate AHA's fifth anniversary in January, Denduyver crafted a hand-drawn wordmark and emblem resembling stamps, utilizing a cream-and-black color scheme and tilted serif type. The slogan 'For Humans. By Humans.' is featured on various merchandise. Claydon, who named the agency in 2020 during a redundancy, sees it as a counter to AI-generated art. Denduyver, who does not employ AI, designed the identity to be intentionally imperfect, a quality that AI would find challenging to mimic. This month marks Denduyver's nine months of independent work, with a decade of experience approaching next year, while Claydon intends to focus on charitable illustration and mentorship.
