David Netto Redesigns East Hampton's Hedges Inn with Old World Flair

David Netto has finalized the redesign of the Hedges Inn located in East Hampton, New York, for its owner, Sarah Wetenhall. Known for his work with clients such as Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld and Lauren Santo Domingo, this marks Netto's inaugural hotel project, made possible by Wetenhall's promise of no corporate boardroom oversight. The inn underwent renovations starting in mid-September and reopened with a concept inspired by an imagined East Hampton socialite. Netto drew inspiration from establishments like the Polo Bar and London’s 5 Hertford Street, embracing the latter's communal seating style. The inn showcases unique antiques, including a weather vane, a rowing oar, and a floating bathtub in the third-floor studio suite, along with a cozy library. Guests can savor drinks from Swifty's, including a Manhattan crafted with Julie Macklowe's rye. The Hedges Inn is among the latest hotel openings in the Hamptons, joining Hotel Corduroy in Montauk and Faraway Sag Harbor.
