David LaChapelle's Spiritual Pop Retrospective at Vichy's Grand Établissement Thermal

The show spans 40 years of his career, from his 1984 debut 'Good News For Modern Man' in New York to recent works. LaChapelle, now 63, reflects on his early days in New York's East Village, his time working for Andy Warhol at Interview magazine, and his spiritual journey as a devout Catholic. The exhibition includes 'Vox Populi', a frieze of celebrity portraits featuring Elton John, Uma Thurman, and Britney Spears, alongside religious iconography. LaChapelle discusses his fascination with the coexistence of pop culture and spirituality, his move to Hawaii in the mid-2000s, and his admiration for Michelangelo. The show runs from June 20 to October 4, 2026.
