David Keeling's Tasmanian Landscapes at Bett Gallery
Tasmanian artist David Keeling presents Waking on a Sunny Day, an exhibition of oil-on-linen landscapes that capture the island's wild terrain. The works, both large and small, explore the moment when the ordinary becomes transcendent, often depicting dramatic cloud movements caused by strong winds that cast a spotlight on the landscape below. Keeling describes his practice as an interrogation of the prosaic becoming the transcendent. The exhibition runs from 21 August to 10 September 2026 at Bett Gallery in Tasmania. A featured work, 'That Gentle Last Light, Freycinet 2026', measures 79 × 58.5 cm and is framed, courtesy of the artist and Bett Gallery.
