David Hockney's iPad Drawings of Yosemite

In 2010 and 2011, David Hockney exhibited 28 iPad drawings of Yosemite National Park, titled 'Yosemite Suite,' created using the Brushes app. The digital works were reproduced as large prints, with four reaching nearly 8 feet (2.4 meters) in height. Hockney, known for his Los Angeles swimming pools and landscapes, emphasized that he is not an 'iPad artist' but an artist who uses the iPad as a medium, acknowledging its revolutionary implications. In an interview, he discussed painting as 'an old man’s art,' the need for hand, eye, and heart, and his interest in landscapes, colors, and seasonal changes. The works were displayed at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art.
