Dash Marshall Designs Filmmaker Hub for RATHAUS in Detroit's Little Village
Founded in 2009 by Amy Yang, Ritchie Yao, and Bryan Boyer, Dash Marshall is creating a filmmaker hub for RATHAUS in Detroit's Little Village. The RATHAUS Artist Residency Theatre will be a single-story building with a courtyard, transforming a conventional residential structure. It will accommodate community events and film screenings, featuring a bedroom for the resident artist, a 30-seat screening room, post-production facilities, and communal spaces. The design incorporates porthole windows, arched doors, and vibrant primary colors, with the facade rising asymmetrically at the back. RATHAUS has produced Familiar Touch (2024) and other films, and the hub is scheduled to open in August 2027, near projects by SO – IL, Peterson Rich Office, and OMA.
