Danieli Hotel in Venice Reopens After Three-Year Restoration by Pierre-Yves Rochon
The Danieli hotel, located close to Piazza San Marco in Venice, has recently undergone a three-year renovation led by architect Pierre-Yves Rochon for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, as announced in 2022. The redesign features a lagoon-inspired color scheme in the guest rooms, replacing the previous dark interiors with soft pastels and light wood. Originally completed in the 15th century, the gothic Palazzo Dandolo transformed into the Danieli in 1822. Esteemed guests such as Goethe and Grace Kelly have stayed here. The lobby boasts a concierge desk and Bar Dandolo adorned with stained glass and Murano chandeliers. Chef Adriano Rausa oversees the restaurant Terrazza Danieli on the top floor. A spa and indoor pool are set to open later this year, while the 1950 Excelsior palazzo will welcome guests again in 2027, adding 168 rooms.
