Daniele Sigalot's 'Please Take This Seriously' Opens in Florence

Daniele Sigalot's exhibition 'Please Take This Seriously,' curated by Valentina Ciarallo, opened at Gallery Hotel Art in Florence, running from June to November 2026. The show features site-specific installations including 'The Ping Pong Paradox,' a playable ping-pong table symbolizing the duality of rationality and creativity, and a wall-mounted installation of polished steel paper airplanes on a cerulean wall, referencing his iconic childhood-inspired motifs. Sigalot, born in Rome and based there now, previously lived in London and Berlin, worked as a graphic designer at a prestigious London ad agency, and collaborated with the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing. His large-scale works include 'Master of Mistakes,' a 3-meter-diameter sphere of crumpled aluminum sheets at Terminal 1 of Rome's Leonardo da Vinci Airport. His studio, 'La Pizzeria,' located in Rome's Gazometro district, hosts 'Coppa Pizzeria,' a performance tournament. The exhibition also features post-it note works with ironic phrases, critiquing art world pretension, and references Marcel Duchamp in the piece 'Art Must Be Taken Seriously, Blame Duchamp if this is art.' Sigalot is represented by ARIA ART GALLERY in Florence. The exhibition is presented by Lungarno Collection.
