Daniel Arsham's 'Time Fold' Opens at Perrotin London with Rare Drawings

Perrotin London presents 'Time Fold', an exhibition of new and historical works by Daniel Arsham, running from June 4 to August 8, 2026. The show spans sculpture, painting, and works on paper from nearly two decades, highlighting Arsham's fascination with geology, archaeology, and the cultural residue of the recent past. Central to the exhibition are five archival drawings from 2007–2010, exhibited publicly for the first time, including gouache works on mylar such as 'Apollo Belvedere; Geometry in Collapse' and 'Portrait Bust of Duke Nemours and Floating Geometry'. These early pieces anticipate the mineral intrusions of his later sculptures. Key works include 'Grey Selenite Eroded Bust of Zeus', 'Bronze Eroded Bust of Pericles' (installed in the Claridge's lobby), 'Ash and Pyrite Eroded Pentax 6×7 75mm Camera', and 'Grey Selenite Eroded Space Odyssey Movie Poster'. A new series of sand sculptures introduces fragility, testing the limits of material endurance. Arsham's concept of 'fictional archaeology' imagines a future where recent past artifacts are buried, transformed, and recovered as relics. The exhibition argues that past and future are coexisting states, with every object becoming something else.
