Dakota Fanning Stars in Joe Swanberg's 'The Sun Never Sets'

Dakota Fanning, known for her roles as a child actor, takes on a new challenge in Joe Swanberg's first film in a decade, 'The Sun Never Sets.' The indie film, which premiered recently, features Fanning as Wendy, an IPA-drinking construction worker in Alaska navigating a love triangle with her ex Chuck (Cory Michael Smith) and Jack (Jake Johnson), a father who doesn't want more children. Fanning, now 32, relates to Wendy's desire for kids, stating she wouldn't be with someone who doesn't want them. The film, shot with improvisation and collaboration, draws from Fanning's own dating experiences, offering a non-cynical view of forming relationships. Her sister Elle recognized Fanning in the role, noting it's 'so you.' Fanning's performance has been praised, and she recently received Emmy nominations for 'Ripley' and 'All Her Fault.'
