Daisuke Tajima's 'Infinite Emptiness' Explores Hollow Growth in Tokyo

Japanese artist Daisuke Tajima, originally from Nara and born in 1993, will unveil his solo exhibition "Infinite Emptiness (Mugen Kyomu)" at the Tokyo 8min gallery in Kyobashi. The exhibition runs from June 20 to July 21, 2026, showcasing new ink-on-paper artworks that illustrate sprawling black-and-white megacities. Tajima, who honed his skills in sculpture at Aichi University of the Arts, draws creative influence from American science fiction cinema, Japanese manga and anime, and his travels in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and mainland China. His detailed pieces examine the contrast between vibrant city life and the isolation it can engender. Admission is free.
