Dahecun National Archaeological Site Park and Museum Opens in Zhengzhou
In Zhengzhou, China, the Dahecun National Archaeological Site Park has officially opened, featuring the Dehecun Site Museum as its main attraction. This museum, crafted by the China Architecture Design & Research Group (CADG), stands as the first in the nation to extensively showcase Yangshao Culture, a Neolithic civilization that thrived over 6,800 years ago in the Central Plains. Spanning 20,000 m², it is the largest fully sunken archaeological museum in China. Its innovative design allows the structure to harmonize with the archaeological remains and the surrounding landscape, enabling natural processes to shape the area. The project was finalized in 2025, with lead architects Chen Tongbin, Jing Quan, and Xu Yuanqing at the helm.
