Crearctive Transforms Commercial Space into Four Apartments in AA Apartments Project

architecture-design · 2026-10-17

Crearctive, led by architects Carlos Arias Garnelo and Rafael González García, has converted a commercial premises into four independent apartments in the AA Apartments project. The 195 m² project, slated for completion in 2026, exploits the original open-plan layout and a clear height of four meters (thirteen feet) by designing the void and working in section. A central spine groups service spaces, optimizing building systems, freeing the perimeter, and enabling an intermediate level that maximizes the height. Curated by Valentina Díaz, the project uses Marazzi Slow Pomice products, with photography by Nicolás Díaz. The intervention addresses the change of use from commercial to residential, demonstrating how section-based design can yield efficient, independent units within a generous volume.
