Craighead Green Gallery Names 50 Artists for 33rd New Texas Talent Exhibition

Craighead Green Gallery in Dallas has selected 50 artists for the 33rd edition of its annual New Texas Talent exhibition, on view June 27–August 22, 2026. The juror, Daisha Board—founding director of Daisha Board Gallery and founder of Black Sheep Art Culture—chose from a record nearly 600 submissions. Board emphasized selecting artists with a clear point of view, noting the urgency and intention in their works. The exhibition, established in 1993, is open to Texas artists 18 and older who have not yet achieved gallery representation. Notable participants include Fort Worth figurative painter Ariel Davis, McKinney artist Fathima Farha (a Dallas Museum of Art 2026 Awards to Artists grantee), and Dallas painter and Glasstire contributor Eric Shaw. Board remarked that many applicants have been creating for decades, reflecting an expansive definition of "new." A public opening reception will be held June 27 from 5–8 p.m.
