Cosentino launches Éclos, a crystalline silica-free mineral surface

Spanish brand Cosentino has introduced Éclos, a next-generation mineral surface material that is free of crystalline silica and made with up to 90% recycled content. The material is produced using the proprietary Inlayr manufacturing process, which creates three-dimensional veining and patterning that runs through the entire slab. Developed by 50 researchers over 28,000 hours of research and 1,500 hours of testing, Éclos is positioned as an entirely new category called an 'inlayered mineral surface'. The first collection, Eclectic Veins, includes 10 stone-like designs ranging from ice-white to dramatic dark tones, with names such as Legnd and Tajnar. All colors contain at least 50% recycled materials, with some reaching 88%. The surface is durable, scratch- and stain-resistant, and withstands temperatures up to 220°C. Cosentino Group CEO Pilar Cosentino described Éclos as 'a new turning point for our industry'. The company, headquartered in Spain, operates in over 120 countries and uses 100% renewable energy and 99% recycled water in its factories. Éclos joins Cosentino's portfolio of low-silica surfaces including Silestone, Dekton, and Sensa.
