Correlación Contemporánea Marks 10 Years with Amazon-Focused Exhibition at ICPNA Iquitos

Curated by Marco Herrera Fernández, the exhibition titled A las aguas que suben y bajan is currently on display at the Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano (ICPNA) in Iquitos until September 26. This showcase highlights a decade of residencies by Correlación Contemporánea, featuring works from fifteen artists who participated in Amazonian residencies from 2017 to 2026. Established in Lima in 2016 by Christi Zorrilla Soto and Marco Herrera Fernández, Correlación emerged as a response to the challenging environment faced by young Peruvian artists. Among the featured artists are Sandra Flores Domínguez, Claudio Marcotulli, Tahuanty Jacanamijoy, Elena Victoria Pastor, David Cuesta, Danna Gaviota Tello, and Ayenan Quinchoa Juajibioy, alongside Susanne Hartmann. An audio archive includes contributions from women knowledge-keepers in Loreto.
