Cooke Optics Launches S4 FF/i Full-Frame Cinema Primes at $15,000 Each
Cooke Optics has introduced the S4 FF/i series, which consists of six full-frame cinema prime lenses, each priced at $15,000 and available for preorder in Arri PL mount. The lineup features focal lengths of 18mm, 25mm, 35mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm, all with a T2.0 aperture. These lenses are updated versions of the S4/i S35 glass, designed with consistent control positions and an 87mm front diameter. Their weights vary from 1.45 kg (3.2 lbs) for the 50mm to 1.8 kg (almost 4 lbs) for the 18mm. The average close focus is 385mm, with the 25mm and 35mm at 280mm and the 100mm at 650mm. The nine-blade iris creates a circular bokeh while preserving contrast and sharpness.
